St. Anthony Hospital Receives Grants to Pave Walking Trails
AUGUST 2026 - St. Anthony Hospital is honored to be the recipient of grants from two organizations to provide safe walking trails for community members. St. Anthony received $10,000 each from both Pendleton Foundation Trust and Amazon Community Fund. This project is also supported by St. Anthony Hospital Foundation, and combined these funds will provide pavement for the walking trails around the St. Anthony Hospital campus grounds on Southgate in Pendleton. “We are exceptionally grateful to both Pendleton Foundation Trust and Amazon Community fund for their support of this project. Having adequate space for outdoor recreation is vital to the health and wellbeing of our community, and we are excited that these funds will allow us to provide additional spaces for people to enjoy the outdoors,” said Emily Smith, St. Anthony Hospital Foundation Director. The walking trails were established as part of the construction of the St. Anthony Hospital campus, which opened in 2013. The existing trails are gravel, and paving these trails will allow for greater accessibility and safety for those using the trails. Parking for those wishing to use the trails is available at St. Anthony Hospital and the walking trails are open to all. The paving project is anticipated to be completed by early 2027 and a ribbon cutting and trail walk event will be announced at a later date.
