Women's Giving Society Purchases Sara Stedy Device
PENDLETON, OREGON - 24 MARCH 2026 – St. Anthony Hospital Foundation is proud to announce that its Women's Giving Society has generously funded the purchase of a Sara Stedy Plus mobility device. This vital piece of equipment will significantly enhance the safety and comfort of patients requiring assistance with standing and transfers, further solidifying St. Anthony Hospital’s commitment to exceptional patient care.
The Sara Stedy Plus, known for its innovative design and advanced features, provides versatile support for both patients and caregivers. It allows individuals with limited mobility to participate more actively in their own standing and transfers, promoting independence while reducing the physical strain on healthcare staff. This acquisition directly addresses a critical need identified by the hospital, ensuring that patients receive the most effective and dignified assistance possible.
The purchase was made possible through the collective contributions of the Women's Giving Society members. In a recent event held in late February, members of the Women's Giving Society had the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of their generosity. Healthcare professionals at St. Anthony Hospital provided a demonstration of the Sara Stedy Plus, showcasing its various functions and highlighting how it will benefit patients. Members observed the ease of use and the enhanced safety features, reinforcing their confidence in the value of their contribution.
"We are incredibly grateful to the Women's Giving Society for their continued dedication and thoughtful support," said Emily Smith, Director of St. Anthony Hospital. "The Sara Stedy Plus is a true game-changer for our patients and staff. This donation will directly impact the well-being and recovery journeys of countless individuals within our care."
June Mohrland, Chair of St. Anthony Hospital Foundation Board and Women’s Giving Society member, commented, "Our members are deeply invested in the health and vitality of our community. We are thrilled to have been able to provide St. Anthony Hospital with the Sara Stedy Plus. Witnessing the demonstration and understanding the difference it will make for patients was incredibly rewarding. This purchase exemplifies our mission to empower St. Anthony Hospital with the resources it needs to deliver the best possible care."
