Providence Health and Services is piloting a critical care service to three Oregon hospitals including St. Anthony Hospital. Using remote-presence technology, Portland-area physicians will be available for critical care consultations with the hospital physician. St. Anthony Hospital will be covered by a pulmonary group to maintain continuity and build relationships with consulting physicians. This will provide around the clock critical care and pulmonary services to St. Anthony Hospital.
St. Anthony Hospital already has in use the telemedicine robot for possible stroke patients. This pilot will expand the services of the current robot the hospital has by providing consultations for physicians in our intensive care unit.
