The St. Anthony Hospital Foundation's 2017 WinterFest, formerly the Festival of Trees, which will be held Friday, December 1st, at the Pendleton Convention Center. Our goal is to expand the reach of this event to other area non-profits that support our mission of nurturing healthy communities through education and research. We believe that these partnerships will help strengthen our community as a whole and provide the necessary support for various health and wellness initiatives. We hope this expansion will also help entice a new generation of supporters for the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.
I'm very excited to announce that this event will benefit the Children's Museum of Eastern Oregon (CMEO), Pioneer Relief Nursery (PRN) and the Hospital Foundation. The CMEO is an imagination emporium! It provides a safe environment where children are encouraged to explore and experience arts and sciences in creative and innovative ways! The PRN provides skills development to children, and offers support services, education and respite to parents. The goal of the PRN is to prevent abuse and provide at risk families with support and education. Both the Children's Museum and the Pioneer Relief Nursery programs were natural choices for our foundation to partner with. They align perfectly with our hospital's commitment to reducing violence in our communities by providing proactive options and education for parents of young and impressionable children. The hospital foundation funds go toward a myriad of programs. Some examples are: healthcare scholarships, much needed hospital equipment, support for hospice programs, and of course much, much more.
