Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

How to get care if you think you have symptoms of coronavirus

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, here are some ways you can access care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.

Start with the symptoms checker

Check your symptoms using our chat box on the CHI National website. Click on the blue chat box in the bottom right corner, and get a referral to a local care center.

Call your primary care physician

Before going to the hospital, contact your primary care physician for guidance. They may be able to direct you to a local testing site and help you avoid waiting in the emergency room.

Choose virtual care

We encourage you to consider virtual visits (via phone or video chat) instead of in-person visits, whether you have coronavirus symptoms or not.

Contact local emergency care

If you do need immediate care, please call ahead to your nearest emergency room before you arrive. They will be able to advise you of the local procedures and best way to be seen.

Visitor restrictions at our facilities

Patients are allowed one visitor, with some exceptions.  Please bring a mask with you if you are visiting a patient or seeking care.  All patients and visitors will be screened prior to entry into the facility.

Public health guidance

Here are a few additional actions you can take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Practice social distancing, by avoiding crowds and remaining 6 feet apart from each other while in public places.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces like countertops, door handles, faucets, and phones.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • If you need medical care and have COVID-19 symptoms, call ahead first.
