Food, Fun, and a Cause The Festival of Trees fundraising spectacular, presented by the St. Anthony Hospital Foundation, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1. This year's festival will combine Family Day and the Gala on one day. Starting at 10 a.m., it's the Family Fun Day at the Pendleton Convention Center. Admission is free, compliments of Wildhorse Resort and Casino, with nonstop entertainment until 2 p.m. Children may participate in activities for prizes such as the fish pond, pocket lady, bingo and face painting. Santa makes his debut for lunch and pictures with the children. Food is prepared and served by the Pendleton School District staff in Rudolph's Restaurant. The Gala begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes an auction of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, with gifts of various themes beneath them. This year's trees are expected to be of exceptional value, with themes ranging from traditional to practical. The trees are usually auctioned for a fraction of their value. While enjoying the trees, visit the Festival Gift Shoppe to find wonderful Christmas decorations and gifts. The evening also includes delicious hors d'oeuvres, as well as dancing to the music of Cimarron. Tickets to the gala are available for $25 per person at Woman to Woman and Dave's 12th Street Chevron. You may also call Vonni Simonton at St. Anthony Hospital at (541) 278.3236. The St. Anthony Hospital Foundation supports the health of our community, and proceeds from this year's festival will be used to purchase an improved nurse call system. The goal of this new system is improved patient safety through faster nurse response times. Nurses will be able to monitor patients closely from the nurses' station. Extra features will also monitor equipment in patient rooms and notify nurses of any changes. This system will also gather data on nurse call response times. |
